That Anne Girl

I know I have way too much fun with YouTube- but you aren't going to believe this. You can
practically watch the entire Anne series through YouTube... 10 minutes at a time. I love this scene. I was obsessed with Tennyson's "Lady of Shallot" throughout High School because of this movie (and also thanks to John Waterhouse).

The Time Has Come...

"The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
Of cabbages--and kings--"

The above was taken from "Through the Looking Glass" by Lewis Carroll and always puts me in the mind of discussion. There is much going on and much to discuss of late. I've read nearly anything I can get my hands on lately.. ranging from Max Lucado's Next Door Savior to 5 of 6 Austen classics (I couldn't bring myself to read Sense and Sensibility - I suppose I thought of Dr. Gillum too much) and finally ending with the Anne of Green Gables series, which I read at least once a year (I'm currently stuck in Book 4 with Anne is Summerside). Isn't it amazing the spells we take. I wanted to read a book and ended with half a dozen.

There are other things to mention too. In the coming weeks I have committed myself to several different groups, gathering and organziations, and for that I seek your prayers. Stepping out is often hard to do, however taking the plunge is often harder. So though I speak in generalities, I ask you to pray for me. No need for cabbages or kings here... just a prayer for guidance and the ability to follow where the Lord leads.

Show Hope

Hope means a continual looking forward to the eternal world.
It does not mean that we are to leave the present world as it is.
If you read history you will find that the Christians who did most for the present world were just those who thought the most of the next.
~C.S. Lewis
